YouTube One Channel

YouTube is making huge channel changes in the next few weeks. Making the layout more dynamic and user friendly for TV and tablet/mobile users. There are a lot of good new features but somehow I have the feeling something got overlooked.

With the new channel layout the branding is supposed to work across devices and make it easier to use on TV and tablets. The branding only lives up in the TV and mobile versions thou. The tiny banner that will be shown for computer/browser viewers just isn’t enough in my opinion.

My current feeling about the design on the computer is something like iGoogle ate a bunch of videos, went to back to the 90’s and puked it up on your screen. On mobile and TV I like it thou, so I have mixed feelings about this. There is something just way off in the layout with all the “featured channels and menus” on the desktop version. I must investigate!
